Introducing the G.06 Verstas – our take on the classic workwear jacket. This work jacket is inspired and designed for the demands of building our new workshop in Hämeenlinna, Finland. Made for modern life, our modern interpretation of the traditional chore coat or "bleu de travail" – a jacket of choice for craftsmen, artists, makers, and creators.

The G.06 Verstas Chore Jacket has the lifelasting durability of traditional shuttle loom woven Italian 15 oz selvedge denim. The jacket is designed for versatile use with the mobility of the raglan sleeve cut and longer sleeves to accommodate both tasks at the workshop as well as your free time. It features a class-leading pocket design for your everyday carry needs and immaculate selvedge-denim detailing on the inside the button placket. As with things designed for life, this work jacket needed to work in the many scenes of our lives. Whether that is a day at the atelier, a bike ride across town or a classy dinner party downtown, or all of the above, the G.06 Verstas is going to deliver.

Made one by one in Loviisa, Finland, this jacket is built to last and designed to age beautifully. As with all things Kasperi, it becomes softer and more personal with every wear. As the denim breaks in, your G.06 Verstas will develop a unique patina that will tell the story of your endeavors.

• Designed For Life. Raglan sleeve cut, sleeve length that allows for a full range of motion, perfect for work as well as in daily use.
• Versatile Eight-Pocket Design. Sloped main pockets provide easier access, can accommodate gloves and double as hand warmers. Inside the mainpockets there are nested pockets that provide dedicated space for box cutters, pliers, or other everyday carry items. A chest pocket, with a button secures your phone (sized for Iphone Pro series with a case). Another open chest pocket with a carpenter's pen pocket on the side. 
• Life Lasting Durability. Midweight 15 oz Italian denim lasts for life, becomes better and softer with use, and develops a unique patina with every use.
• Timeless Aesthetic. Our version of the classic chore coats and french bleu-de-travails, will maintain it's relevance for decades to come.

Background

The history of this particular piece has its roots in the very beginning of the history of Kasperi. A little known fact is that Kasperi's first product ever was a leather jacket designed as a winter bike jacket. It was designed out of leather for it's protection from the elements, durable construction and the mobility of riding the bike around town on different assignments in all kinds of weather.

Verstas is the finnish word for a workshop. In the spring of 2024 we started building our Workshop, we needed a sturdy and versatile jacket to use in the building of the workshop. Thus the G.06 Verstas Chore Jacket was born.  The G.06 Verstas needed to be a sturdy, versatile jacket that performs well in both workshop environments and daily life. After the G.03 Telakka, that was designed for the demands of outdoor work at the dockyard in the spring, the G.06 Verstas is our second modern interpretation of this timeless piece of workwear, known as the chore jacket, chore coat or the classic French "bleu-de-travail". The result is the G.06 Verstas Chore Jacket, designed for hard use, made to last. A part of our ongoing mission to produce items that are truly made for life, sturdy, reliable, and full of character.

Denim has long been favored for its durability in hard work settings, and its ability to develop a unique character with wear. Over the years we've researched many different denim fabrics, and while looking for a traditional European mill with the highest quality material, we were tipped by one of Europe's leading denimheads, Mr. Ruedi Kaerrer, the founder of the Zurich The Jeans Museum. That tip was the Italian Candiani mill, from whom we chose their selvedge denim that is gently woven on 60's shuttle looms. A fabric that will create a unique fade, reflecting the stories experienced with its wearer.

Roomy fit sized for fitting a woolen sweater under. Size down for a t-shirt fit. The denim has been treated to reduce shrinkage. Consult the size chart or get in touch directly for sizing.

Janne (in tweed cap): 188cm or 6ft 2in and 85kg or 187lb in pictures sized XL sized extra-roomy for plenty of space in the G.01 Vesikko or G.04 Lainio woolen sweater underneath. 

Michael (in purple cap) : 177cm or 5ft 10in and 79kg or 174pounds, wearing size M for space for the G.01 Vesikko or G.04 Lainio woolen sweater underneath.

Your G.06 Verstas Work Jacket is made from premium selvedge denim, designed to age beautifully. The denim is treated to reduce shrinkage, but do not wash in hot water or dry in high heat as this can lead to additional shrinkage or distortion of shape.

Washing will turn the dark, original, indigo denim color into a more royal blue. To maintain the character of the jacket:

• Minimize washing. Air out regularly and spot clean when necessary, wash only when necessary.
• Wash gently, inside out. Hand wash or machine wash in cold water (30C), and hang to dry.
• Avoid harsh detergents. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners to protect the fabric.

Pre-order

How the pre-order works?

Pre-orders require payment of the full price upfront. Delivery is scheduled for October 2024. You can modify or cancel your pre-order for a full refund at any time before shipping, yet we do hope that you consider your sizing carefully since these are made one by one.

Shipping

Once ready, products are shipped with a tracking link provided via email.

EU

Products are delivered in the European Union via UPS, GLS, and Posti with delivery fees between €20-45.

Worldwide (non-EU)

Outside the EU, products are delivered via Posti, GLS, UPS, and EMS with fees between €20-65.

Duties and Import fees for non-EU orders:

Customers are responsible for any duties, taxes, or import fees imposed by their country's customs authorities. For deliveries carried out by UPS which is standard in the UK, UPS handles the collection of these fees.

These charges are separate from the product price and shipping cost. For more information on potential fees, please contact your local customs office.

Finland

Products are delivered via DB Schenker and Matkahuolto to the nearest pickup point of the address provided. In Helsinki, a bicycle courier option and pickup appointments are also available.
