Background
Background
The classic and timeless Submariner sweater has many navies around the world for close to a century now. For the G.01 Vesikko, we went back to the roots of maritime sweaters and upgraded it from the point of view of everyday comfort and utility. The Vesikko is named after one of the few Finnish submarines from the 1930s.
At Kasperi, we're passionate about products made for life. We demand high utility and durability from our designs, which is why we've collaborated with Alpa Knitwear for the G.01 Vesikko. We've been collaborating with Alpa using their alpaca wool crewnecks for over two years in all conditions. We fell in love with alpaca wool's qualities and envisioned the world's first Alpaca wool Submariner sweater. Alpa's decade-long experience in creating the highest quality pieces out of ethically sourced Peruvian alpaca wool aligns with our vision of making garments that stand the test of time.
We designed a piece and Alpa figured manufactured it. The result is not only the first alpaca wool Submariner sweater, but probably the best Submariner sweater out there.
Our nordic design philosophy is inspired by the timelessness of high quality pieces and the efficient use of resources. In the past, items were investments, and their utility and durability were essential. True future classics emerge when items stay in use for decades. That's why we're committed to designing Garments for those principles.
