Florence Connection and a new launch

We're launching the limited edition Firenze Collection in Racing Green.

We're in Florence during the Pitti Uomo week, invited and hosted by our friends at Captain Santors at Manifattura Tabacchi.

Pitti has always represented a respect for lasting style and well made things. That way of thinking is close to how we approach our work.  As we use leather from the Florence region, it felt natural to mark this trip with a collection made for this moment.  We call it the Firenze Collection.

The color we chose is a deep racing green. It is a tone that fits into the palette of Florence, stone, shadow, aged wood, and copper patinated by time. It is a classic tone that is sharp yet easy to live with. And it patinates towards a muted dark olive that is full of character, stories of a life well lived.

The long continuity of craft the Italy is impressive. In 1824, nearby Florence, the first leather tannery in Santa Croce Sull'arno was founded. Couple of decades later there we're already over a dozen tanneries there. Today it is the worlds most renowned area for vegetable-tanning leather. This is the oldest method of tanning, that uses quebracho, chestnut, mimosa extracts together with time to turn raw hides into leather that shows exceptional character over time.

The bags themselves are made in our own workshop in Finland, as always. The Firenze Collection is small and intentionally so. It marks a specific moment, and we are happy to share it in the place that first planted the idea.
