Once we had chosen and tested the leather for the S.05 we made a few more test pieces of this pack. After the first one we made three pieces, one for further testing, another was sent to the world abroad to circulate the world, and one, the PP3 (a code that is stamped on the back of the pack) we're letting go. The PP3 is one of the Original S.05 Fold Tops and will stay in history as such.

With the S.05 we wanted to create something functionally different. An exceedingly resilient pack. Bovine leather is the route to that goal. The dense, strong surface grain of bovine leather is hard as armor. It is difficult to scuff. It remains like new unless you go out of your way to trash it. Even then it'll keep on going. No wonder this stuff has been used for over a century as protective clothing by racers and motorcyclists. And as body armor since at least the beginning of recorded human history.

So even if you do manage to bust through the super-tough grain, intentionally or unintentionally, it's recoverable. Just apply a dab of wax, spread and polish hard so that the wax heats up. It'll bounce right back. And you'll barely notice a difference.

The Fold Top is our most popular product and it turns heads wherever we go. As a product that lasts a lifetime, it is an investment that only gets better, more sustainable, and affordable with time. Stylish for city use. Sturdy for forest hiking. Easily big enough for a weekend trip. Compact to carry on as cabin luggage. Its ergonomics are designed to keep it comfortable even after full days of carrying heavier loads. It might just be the last backpack you’ll ever need.

It's been close to a year since the last limited Kasperi Specials release. The Specials S.05 is a limited run of the Fold Top, handcrafted in Finland in a timeless color combination, navy and brown. The body of the pack is made from the sturdy German SOHRE tanneries vegetable-tanned bovine leather and the folding part is made from the Italian Puccini tanneries supple and lasting vegetable-tanned bovine leather in navy blue. The combination creates a sharp yet subtle toned backpack. This all makes for a rugged yet classy look, no matter the environment.

A detachable computer sleeve is included. The sleeve attaches only at the top to let the bag conform to the shape of your back. It also works as padding when the bag is packed full. The bag has six external attachment points for external gear like camera tripods, fishing rods, or camping gear.

Materials

Made from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. The frame of the bag is made of german SOHRE tannery’s excellent bovine leather and the folding part is made of Italia Puccini tannery's vegetable-tanned sturdy but soft navy blue bovine leather.

"In stock" products that are ordered late on Wednesday will be shipped on Thursdays from our workshop.
"Pre-order" products will be shipped when products are ready according to the announced production schedule.

We ship to the European Union, United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland via GLS. Shipping fees for large shipments (backpacks, bags, and garments) are:

Standard Shipping: €30 (4–8 business days)
Priority Shipping: €45 (2–3 business days)

Shipping options for smaller items are reduced and shown at checkout.

All orders include tracking. VAT is applied at checkout where required.

Worldwide (Non-EU)

Worldwide we ship via FedEx or UPS. Shipping fees vary based on destination:

Standard Shipping: €30-45 (5–12 business days)
Express Shipping: €45-65 (2–5 business days)

Duties & Import Fees

Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees. Customers ordering from EU member states are exempt from duties or import fees.

The United States

The United States has a de minimis threshold of $800 USD. This means that orders valued under $800 typically do not incur import duties or taxes.

For orders above $800, U.S. Customs may apply duties based on the product type, i.e. Leather goods (bags, backpacks, accessories): 8% duty. In almost all cases this means that ordering everything all at once will still be more reasonable and convenient than paying for two shipments.

How the pre-order works?

The pre-order requires payment of the full price of the item upfront. Flexible payment options may be available for your order depending on your location.

Pre-order delivery times are estimates and indicated in the product page. Once the product is ready to be shipped, we will notify you via email with a tracking link and proceed with the shipping of your order. If there are changes in your address, please get in touch well in time.

The accessories you choose in the same order are shipped together with the item. If you wish to add products to your order before delivery, just leave us a note to your order so we know whether to ship separately or ship together.
