Field Belt – Made For The Long Haul

Introducing the Field Belt, a one-of-a-kind belt crafted for those who appreciate utilitarian design and meticulous craftsmanship. Made to order in small batches, this belt is built to last a lifetime.

The Field Belt features our proprietary design two-spike Conway buckle, a simple yet ingenious structure with no moving parts. Originally used in harnesses for their durability and adjustability, the Conway style design has a history in hard-working and long-lasting equipment.

The buckle is hand-cast in bronze in small batches, right here in Finland. The rough-cast surface will develop a stunning patina over time, which you can easily customize by polishing when needed or sanding lightly when you want to brighten it back.

The belts are made from 3mm vegetable-tanned leather, with edges carefully rounded and polished by hand. The result is a belt designed to serve its wearer for a lifetime.

Background

The Process for the Belt

When we set out to design a belt, we asked ourselves what would a Kasperi Belt embody. Utility, durability, uniqueness, and the ability to get better with time. This led us to the Conway buckle, historically used in harnesses for its simplicity and reliability, where it reliably secured saddles and straps.

We set out to design our proprietary vision of the conway buckle. A two spike conway, cast by hand. The belt’s buckle is made from bronze, chosen for its strength, versatility, and capacity to age gracefully. After extensive prototyping, we refined the design and worked closely with our casting expert to perfect the tooling. Each buckle is cast in small batches, ensuring quality and attention to detail at every step.

Sizing

Select the size of your Denim. When in between size one size up. To be sure, measure the circumference of your jeans with a flexible tape measure when wearing, and compare with belt size (buckle to center hole) measure.

Care

Maintain and Enjoy

The Conway Belt requires minimal care to maintain its rugged elegance. Periodically condition the leather with Kasperi Leather Wax or another beeswax-based leather conditioner to keep it supple and protected.

The bronze buckle will naturally develop a patina over time, enhancing its unique character. If desired, it can be polished to bring out its original sheen. Either way it will age gracefully to tell your story.

Tracking & Support

"In stock" products that are ordered late on Wednesday will be shipped on Thursdays from our workshop.
"Pre-order" products will be shipped when products are ready according to the announced production schedule.

Europe

We ship to the European Union, United Kingdom, Norway, and Switzerland via GLS. Shipping fees for large shipments (backpacks, bags, and garments) are:

Standard Shipping: €30 (4–8 business days)
Priority Shipping: €45 (2–3 business days)

Shipping options for smaller items are reduced and shown at checkout.

All orders include tracking. VAT is applied at checkout where required.

Worldwide (Non-EU)

Worldwide we ship via FedEx or UPS. Shipping fees vary based on destination:

Standard Shipping: €30-45 (5–12 business days)
Express Shipping: €45-65 (2–5 business days)

Duties & Import Fees

Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees. Customers ordering from EU member states are exempt from duties or import fees.

The United States

The United States has a de minimis threshold of $800 USD. This means that orders valued under $800 typically do not incur import duties or taxes.

For orders above $800, U.S. Customs may apply duties based on the product type, i.e. Leather goods (bags, backpacks, accessories): 8% duty. In almost all cases this means that ordering everything all at once will still be more reasonable and convenient than paying for two shipments.

Worldwide

Many countries benefit from EU Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) or De minimis rules reducing or eliminating import duties:

De minimis: Australia has a high de-minimis that exempts import duty for most of our products.

How the pre-order works?

The pre-order requires payment of the full price of the item upfront. Flexible payment options may be available for your order depending on your location.

Pre-order delivery times are estimates and indicated in the product page. Once the product is ready to be shipped, we will notify you via email with a tracking link and proceed with the shipping of your order. If there are changes in your address, please get in touch well in time.

The accessories you choose in the same order are shipped together with the item. If you wish to add products to your order before delivery, just leave us a note to your order so we know whether to ship separately or ship together.

Love the belt, don't love its price.

It has become my favorite belt, yet I wonder if the price is due to how much they have to pay for the bronze casting of the buckle. It is beautiful and I do think it will last me a lifetime. This is the 4th product I get from Kasperi, 5th if I count the wax, but sometimes I still feel this belt was priced too high, especially when compared to the two beautiful bags that probably took much more work to build and conceive. The shoulder straps alone have a similar construction and materials except for the bronze buckle. I also got the gloves, and even though the gloves come from Hungary, they probably take much more time and work to make than the belt that has the same price.

Do I love it? Yes. Do I think it is absolutely beautiful? Yes. Do I think I am paying too much because I love the brand and most of their products? Definitely.

It is starting to take its patina and I know it will eventually darken like the bag, which is something I like. I did buy it because of how pretty the buckle is, I sort of wish the bags closing mechanisms also looked like that, but I probably wouldn't have been able to afford them if they were also made of brass.

My conclusion is: if you love it as much as I do, go for it, it is a beautiful belt and it makes me happy whenever I wear it. But the price is high. The bags are well worth it, the gloves maybe, €150 for the belt? It's up to you to decide.
