Half a ton, almost too hard to believe, but here we are. To be fair we blew past five hundred packs produced some months ago already. But we kept numbers 500 and 501 because we taught that's something we need to celebrate. As well as one other special number that is coming up soon.
The story of the Fold-Top began like all the Kasperi stories, from our own needs to design and produce just the right product for a specific need. We are humbled that now more than 500 of you have shared our vision and got a Kasperi Fold-Top backpack.
We wanted to keep the 501 as well because the quintessential Levi’s 501 jeans are one of the most well-known everyday design products that several generations have recognized already almost 150 years ago. This is what we are aiming for with the Fold Top. A product that will transcend time.
Kasperi Fold-Top nr. 501, is a piece that will last for several generations of daily service. A piece that gets better in time. A piece that never grows old. A little like your favorite pair of hardwearing jeans. A little like the 501.
This is also a perfect time to celebrate all those handcraft professionals at our workshop who have been working with us to create something that redefines what quality can be. And while doing that, reviving the Finnish handcraft industry.

The Fold Top is our most popular product and it turns heads wherever we go. As a product that lasts a lifetime, it is an investment that only gets better, more sustainable, and affordable with time. Stylish for city use. Sturdy for forest hiking. Easily big enough for a weekend trip. Compact to carry on as cabin luggage. Its ergonomics are designed to keep it comfortable even after full days of carrying heavier loads. It might just be the last backpack you’ll ever need.
It's been close to a year since the last limited Kasperi Specials release. The Specials S.05 is a limited run of the Fold Top, handcrafted in Finland in a timeless color combination, navy and brown. The body of the pack is made from the sturdy German SOHRE tanneries vegetable-tanned bovine leather and the folding part is made from the Italian Puccini tanneries supple and lasting vegetable-tanned bovine leather in navy blue. The combination creates a sharp yet subtle toned backpack. This all makes for a rugged yet classy look, no matter the environment.
A detachable computer sleeve is included. The sleeve attaches only at the top to let the bag conform to the shape of your back. It also works as padding when the bag is packed full. The bag has six external attachment points for external gear like camera tripods, fishing rods, or camping gear.

Materials
Made from high-quality vegetable-tanned leather. The frame of the bag is made of german SOHRE tannery’s excellent bovine leather and the folding part is made of Italia Puccini tannery's vegetable-tanned sturdy but soft navy blue bovine leather.
