We didn’t design the Attaché to change the world. We made it for the people who do. 

The Firenze Collection, made in our workshop in Finland from vegetable-tanned leather from the renowned Santa Croce sull’Arno district near Florence. The classic deep racing green tone reflects the colors of the city and develops a beautiful darker olive patina with use. The collection is made in limited numbers and built for lifelong, everyday use.

For those who build, negotiate, travel, write, design, teach, repair and survey, and keep going when the going gets tough. The Attaché bridges worlds between difference and similarity, duty and freedom, city and field, work and life. As a testament to the commitment we put into the Attaché, an entirely own design cast bronze buckle was designed for it. Each Attaché is numbered and enters the world at our own workshop in Hämeenlinna, Finland, and is made of full‑grain vegetable‑tanned leather so we can be sure it'll endure.

Background

The Firenze Connection

A few years ago we visited our leather tanners in Italy to better understand the materials and the people behind them. The continuity of the tanning craft in Santa Croce Sull'arno dates back to 1824. 200 years later, we're visiting them directly during our time in Florence for Pitti Uomo, hosted by our friends at Captain Santors at Manifattura Tabacchi. We wanted mark that link with a collection made from leather tanned just outside Florence.

We named it the Firenze Collection, a shared name for Florence in Italian and Finnish, and a nod to the place that has influenced this chapter of our work. Made in our own workshop in Finland, it reflects what we value most, strong structures, great to carry, and materials chosen develop character over time. Produced in limited numbers, it is meant to be used, repaired, and carried for a long time, not just for a season.

Use & Care

How should I care for my leather bag?

You can start using your bag straight out of the box. Leather works well even in bad weather conditions, and getting wet is fine as long as it is properly cared for. The harder the use, the faster the patina, but that only adds character to the bag.

Treat with wax every 4-6 months or when the leather feels like it's drying. Wipe the leather to clean it. With a cloth, spread a thin layer of wax on the leather. Allow the wax to permeate overnight and then polish the remainders off with a cotton or wool cloth. The scent of tar will fade away in a couple of days; if a lot of wax is applied, this will take longer.

We recommend using natural products like beeswax or natural oils. Synthetic leather protection can block the pores of the leather, reducing its ability to absorb wax and oils, ultimately reducing the lifespan of the bag.

How long is the break-in period of the leather bag?

We believe that leather is the best material for bags because it conforms to our bodies over time and can last for decades while remaining in good condition.

Like all high-quality leather goods, Kasperi bags also have a break-in period. It will take a couple of weeks of active use for the shoulder straps to start forming to your body. If you experience any pressure points, squeeze the straps lightly with your hands from the pressure points to help it form faster.

Closing and opening the G-buckles is also stiff at first but will become fluid as the leather loops soften and form over time.

With proper care and use, these bags develop a unique patina and become more personal by the day.

What about repairs or service?

We believe in the “right to repair.” Every aspect, from structures to material thicknesses, is considered for repairability. Because our bags are designed to last for decades, they will require servicing at some point.

The hardest-wearing parts (i.e., shoulder straps) are made from 3mm leather for longevity, and the whole structure is designed with serviceability in mind.
